English 12 final Essay
What have you learned in the first semester of English 12 and why is this material important?
Sample introduction and thesis:
Oscar Wilde once said, “What seems to us as bitter trials are often blessings in disguise.” Most people think they know what success is, or how to become a successful person. Some people look at hard work, a difficult task or a difficult assignment as being a bad thing-something to avoid at all cost. Some young people think that, “chillin” is the best non-activity to be engaged in. This essay will cover some of what our class learned in the first semester of English 12a. Specifically, this essay will focus on the benefits of journaling, what one can learn from reading, Who Moved My Cheese by Spencer Johnson and, Into The Wild by Jon Krackauer. In addition, this essay will also discuss what a student can learn from watching The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, and the film, Peaceful Warrior which is based on a book written by Dan Millman titled, The Way of the Peaceful Warrior. Lastly, this essay will discuss what a student can learn from watching selected Ted Talks by Caroline Casey, Neil Pasricha, JR, and Mundano. It has been an interesting year.
